Zedek Sisterhood's seventh
annual "Women's World"
fund-raising event April 3 at
the synagogue. Since 1956,
she has been one of the most
widely read columnists in the
world. Her column is carried
in nearly 1,000 newspapers
in the United States and
abroad, and she was written
three best sellers, "Dear
Abby," "Dear Teenager,"
and "Dear Abby on Marri-
age." She also has her own
CBS radio show. Her lunch-
eon speech will be the high-
light of a day including 10
a.m. complimentary contin-
ental breakfast and boutique
shopping. Prizes will be
awarded every 15 minutes
during morning shopping
hours. A sherry hour will
precede the catered lunch-

A guide to the celebration

TEMPLE BETH EL SIS-
TERHOOD will hear the "Ins
and Outs of Fashion . . . or
How to Look Glamorous on a
Budget" from Marji Kunz,
Free Press fashion writer,
11 a.m. March 27 at the syna-
gogue. Mrs. Kunz has re-
ported on fashion showings
in New York. Paris. Rome,
Florence and London, as
well as Detroit. She has won
several awards including the
Penney-Missouri Award for
Fashion Writing and the
"Lulu" Award given by the
Men's Fashion Association
for top reporting of mens-
wear. She has worked for
Glamor and Mademoiselle
magazines and is now a part-
time instructor of advanced
fashion merchandising at
Wayne State University.
Coffee will be served at 10:30
a.m. and luncheon following
the lecture. Friends are wel-
come at a nominal charge.

Yom Haatzmaut, the
birthday of Israel's state-
hood, is available in a newly
revised edition of Pioneer
Wo men.
The 33-page guide, which
has been expanded to coin-
cide with Israel's 25th anni-
versary, contains both new
and traditional materials. In-
cluded are directions for the
celebration of a special seuda
plus songs, prayers, stories,
poetry, games and other pro-
gram ideas. The guide con-
tains a Yiddish-language sec-
tion.
The idea for the family
celebration of Yom Haatz-
maut was conceived in 1963
through the efforts of the
