salem's late Mayor Gershon
Agron, died last Friday at
age 78.
Mrs. Agron was a native
of Baltimore and an honor
gra duate f toucher Coll ege
there. She came to Palestine
with her husband m 19 2 3.
Mr. Agron was the founder,
editor and publisher of the
Jerusalem Post. originally
the Palestine Post, the coun-
try's only English-language
daily- newspaper which com-
menced publishing in 1932.
Mrs. Agron served for
many years as chairman of
the Hadassah Council in Is-
rael. Following her husband's
death, she moved to Tel Aviv.
