Dayan Sees No
New War in '73

JERUSALEM (ZINS) —
Defense Minister Moshe Day-
an foresees no new war with
the Arab states in 1973.
He made this declaration
while visiting in Rafiah,
where a number of Arab fam-
ilies were vacating a refugee
camp to take up residence
in new housing provided by
the Israel government.

"I doubt whether Egypt
will want to start a war in
1973," said Dayan, "and
neither do I believe that King
Hussein will depart from his
present policy of refraining
from renewed conflict with
Israel," the defense minis-
ter added.
The Arabs were leaving
the refugee camp in which
they had lived under squalid
conditions for more than 20
years.

At the same time, El Fatah
chief, Yassir Arafat, was
quoted in Tunis as saying
that 1973 will be a year of
renewed war between the
Arab people and Israel. He
made this statement in Da-
mascus in an interview car-
ried by Palestine Al Tavrah,
an organ of the "Palestine
Liberation."
A poll taken among Arabs
in the administered areas
would indicate that they be-
lieve Defense Minister Moshe
Dayan has the best chance
of reaching a peace agree-
ment with the Arabs.
The poll was conducted by
the Arab weekly El Aswana
(The Week) with the follow-
ing results: 39 per cent of
those interviewed made
Moshe Dayan their first
choice; Yigal Alton was a
17 per cent favorite; Golda
Meir-14 per cent; Abbi.
Eban-6 per cent and Pin-
has Sapir-2 per cent. Of all
those questioned, 22 per cent
made no choice. Most of
those who. expressed a pref-
erence for Moshe Dayan said
he has a greater understand-
ing for the Arab situation
and the Arab mentality.

of the President under whom he served as Vice
President. In that speech, President Johnson spoke
at length about a plan which could have provided

Lady Bird Johnson was like her husband. She
defied Arab pressures, while in the White House,

when she befriended Jewish women and the Jewish
cause. She was threatened at the time but her ideals
were like her husband's: prejudice was abhorrent
to her.
President Johnson was a fearless man. He was
asked, just before he became President, by a con-
firmand in a Union, N.J., synagogue, for his fav-
orite Bible verse, and he gave it as the following
from the 91st Psalm"
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night,
Nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor fo rthe pestilence that walketh

in the darkness,
Nor for the pestilence that walketh
at the noonday ..

It is as a fearless man that he rose to great
heights, and as such we honor his memory with
reverence and with a feeling of great respect for a

great leader.

The End of the Agony

President Johnson must have anticipated an
end to the war in Vietnam before his death. He had
hoped for it and while still in the White House he
ordered an end to the bombing in 1968.
It is part of the inevitable an history that while
mourning the death of a great President we also
rejoice over the cessation of hostilities for which
he suffered part of the blame.
In the hour of gratitude for an end to the war,
Americans fully appreciate the tribute President
Nixon paid, in his historic announcement of the
approaching cease fire, to his predecessor.

It is not known what
causes this excessive pro-

been found that the use of
MGI causes the white cells

down their rate of multiplica-

Dr. Sachs and his col-
