Jack Berman. past depart-
ment commander of the Jew-
ish War Veterans, has been
elected president of the Al-

lied Veterans Council
Wayne County. The council
is made up of representatives
of the 25 major veterans'
groups in Michigan.

Berman, 26060 Stratford,
Oak Park, is the fifth Jewish
veteran to hold the post.
In his 25 years as a mem-
ber of JWV, Berman has
served as state department
commander and president of
the JWV bonding league. He
presently serves as vice
president of the JWV Memo-'
rial Home Association, mem-
ber of the board of the Na-
tional Shrine of Jewish War
Veterans and national re-,
habilitation officer.
He will be installed March
