Editor, The Jewish Nrws:
Lea Rubel fought, s orked
and insisted on a senior citi-
zen building. How happy she
was when the building was
completed and.she was one
of the first to move in.
She never tired of talking
about the building and how
much she liked living in it.
Now she is gone. Who is
there to fight for another
senior building?
I live in the Blackstone.
After four o'clock I am iso-
lated. There is no walking out
at all. And there are so many
of us. What can we do? How
can we fight for another
building?
Hopefully,

cream. The emphasis is on
variety and portion , control.

The co-directors, who
themselves have lost 40
pounds each, stress an eating
program that can last a life-
time. What contributes to the
success of the plan is an
"exchange program" by
which the dieter is taught
how to substitute diet jams,
dressings and other foods for
the regular, higher-calorie
items.
To join does not require
advance registration.- The
weight-in starts half an hour
before the 7:30 class. There
is a special rate for senior
adults and a family plan.
There also is a prepaid plan,
which eliminates the regis-
tration fee. For information,
call 963-DIET (963-3438).
