Rabbi Sally Preisand, the
first woman to be ordained
a rabbi, will speak at 7:45
p.m. Jan. 21 at Cong. Bnai
Moshe.
She is the second speaker
in Bnai Moshe's Town Hall
Series, whose chairman is
Larry Rockind.
Rabbi Preisand will share
the experiences and insight
that influenced her to break
with tradition and become a
rabbi. The public is invited.
Rabbi Preisand, 25, is a
native of Cleveland and was
ordained last June. She is
serving as assistant rabbi at
the Stephen Wise Free Syna-
gogue, one of the largest Re-
form temples in the country.
The next Town Hall
speaker will be Gen. Chaim
Herzog, May 22. The annual
music concert will be pre-
sented April 1.

Chaim Grade, poet and
novelist, will address a
meeting of the Israel His-
tadrut Campaign, noon Sun-
day at the Labor Zionist In-
stitute. His topic will be
"The Spiritual Influence of
Labor in Israel During 25
Years of Statehood." Grade
has authored many books de-
voted to the life and creativ-
ity of Eastern European Jew-
ry. In 1961, be was awarded
the honorary degree of doc-
tor of Hebrew letters from
the Hebrew Theological Sem-
inary and he has received
many prizes in the United
States, in Israel and in Latin
America. The public is invit-
ed.

of American ORT Federation,
Jan. 20 and 21 at Americana
Hotel, New York, by Dr.
William Haber, national ORT
president. Other speakers
will include Elad Pelled, di-
rector-general of Israe l's

culture, and Shlomo Shohan,
a teacher in one of ORT's
schools in Israel who emi-
