The new effort is headed by a young Israeli psycholo- gist, Shoshana Sharni, who studied at Ohio State and Columbia universities. The program is aided with a grant from the Demographic Institute of the Prime Min- ister's Office. Implementation is based in part on the vacation pro- ject operated principally by Moetzet Hapoalot during the past summer, which reached more than 5,000 mothers of large deprived families. These form the nucleus of the first groups in the current year- round program.
