Publication of his "Jews in

possible by a grant from the

By the time America's Bi-
centennial observance rolls
around, the children in Dalet
class (fourth grade) of the
United Hebrew Schools will
be 15 years old.
If a new booklet they are
using has achieved the goal
of its writer, there will be
great interest among the chil-
dren in the origins and contri-
butions of American Jewry.
The booklet, "Jews in
American History," was writ-

a member of the English de-
partment at Henry Ford
Community College. Rosing-

degree in history from Co-

the struggle of the Jews to
win their rightful place in
American society, serving
with distinction in all facets
of the republic.

American Revolution, to both
sides in the Civil War and to

Arab Terrorists in Israeli Prisons

Among these prisoners
there are former students
who receive books to enable
them to continue their

passed their matriculation
examinations by mail, with
the help of the Egyptian

lease, they are able to con-
tinue their studies.

they are a disciplined group.

There is a lack of prison
guards in Israel and the
difficult and responsible work
rests on the shoulders of a
few men. Their salaries are
low.
Each Arab prisoner costs
the Israeli government IL
4,500 ($1,100) per year.
There was the case of a
terrorist who after his re-
lease from prison expressed
his wish to be converted to
Judaism to atone for his
past. The two terrorist girls
who were captured at Lod
Airport after hijacking a
Sabena airliner expressed a
wish to be converted to Juda-
ism in order to be able to
marry Jews.
A majority of Arab ter-
rorists in Israeli prisons
certainly never dreamed of
living at the cost of the Is-
raeli authorities in Israeli
prisons.
