to explore his daughter's
skills. An Amateur Athletic
Union (AAU) coach confirm-

indeed a fine runner. The
first meet in which she ever
engaged, a road race in To-

Mrs. Rose, a former vice
president of the National
Council of Jewish Women
Detroit Section , admits that

plus daily exercise), Leslie
says she runs strictly for
fun. But she's not ruling out
the possibility of one day
competing in the Olympics.
Her career goals are to
be a teacher or an actress.
She plays flute in the school
band, sings in the glee club,
is a member of the service
squad and attends classes at
the Jewish Parents Institute.
Although she can run from
Nine to 10 Mile in 5 minutes
and 40 seconds (without stop-
lights), Leslie admits her
mother drives her to and
from school, three miles
away. Not that Leslie
couldn't do it on her own
steam. She can run six miles
without stopping.
