U-M Students Join IIillel Director
at Service for Milan Prisoners
Though the number of Jew-
ish inmates at the Milan Fed-
eral Correction Institution is
down to three among the
present 600 prisoners, Rabbi
Gerald Goldman, Hillel direc-
tor at the University of Mich-

brief worship service for any
interested Jewish inmates.
On special holidays, Rabbi
Goldman is accompanied by

said that "more sensible drug
laws" and reduction of the
number of Americans sent to
Vietnam have contributed to
the drop in the initially small
number of Jewish inmates.
Rabbi Goldman's informal
service features wine, halls
and a friendship circle. Miss
Orebro reported that the In-
mates and the visitors dis-
cuss the Torah portion for
that day and its relevancy.
Miss Orchen said she was
one of five Jewish students
who accompanied Rabbi
Goldman for a Kol Nidre
service on Yom Kippur. She
said the service was "very
