JOHANNESBURG (JTA)—
A visiting Zionist official
from Jerusalem has sug-
gested that the South African
Jewish community establish
a coordinating body for Jew-
ish education on a national
basis which could function
without infringing on the
•
present regional autonomy.
Chaim Finkelstein, head of
the World Zionist Organiza-
tion's department of educa-
tion and culture, suggested
this during an address to the
Board of Jewish Education in
Capetown.

War Crimes Museum Enlarged
'Alpha Omegans Buy Bonds
WASHINGTON (JTA) —
Norman D. Tiles, national
commander of the Jewish
War Veterans, warned that
the impending energy crisis
facing the United States must
not be used as a weapon over
Israel's head to force an un-
favorable peace settlement
with the Arabs.
For years, he said, "Arab-
ists in the State Department
and elsewhere have been us-
ing our need for Arab oil as
an argument that the U.S.
must treat the Arabs with
kid gloves."
But, he noted, it is in the
Arabs' interest "to supply
the U.S. oil as much as it is
in our interest to buy it, so
the sword cuts both ways and
Israel need not be the victim
of an international energy
crunch."

LADIES AUXILIARY will
hold a holiday party for
patients at the Northland
Geriatr ic Center Thursday.
Housedresses and jewelry
will be distributed. Refresh-
ments will be served.
The War Crimes Museum
in Keatington Antique Vil-
lage, Lake Orion, is being
enlarged to accommodate
many new acquisitions.
Stanley Bozich, owner, said
necessary
expansion was
also to provide room for
large classes that tour the
museum. Among his ar-
chives, which has been
praised by educators as a
"living history lesson," are
photographs, uniforms and
other items dating to the
Nazi era.
Among Bozich's newest
acquisitions are a Dachau
death stamp which was used
at the concentration camp
and which was acquired by
Capt. Henry Rost, the first
liberating officer at Dachau.
Bozich, who continually
adds to the museum, devised
a taped narrative for groups
when he doesn't himself con-
special tours may call Bo-

Hours of the museum,
which is open to the public,
are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday
through Saturday; and noon-
5 p.m. Sunday, year-round.
Bozich said he is interested
in expanding his archives
whenever possible, and he
will be pleased to meet with
anyone with materials to
show him.

Japan Air Lines
WASHINGTON, D.C. — In
cooperation with the Anti-
Defamation League of Bnai
Brith, the national command-
er of the Jewish War Veter-
ans has scored Japan Air
Lines for the "morally re-
prehensible act of knuckling
under to the Arab boycott."
He cited JAL's refusal to
meet with officials of El Al
Airlines to arrange mutual
landing rights.
. The Jewish War Veterans
is demonstrating with ADL
in major cities and has in-
structed its membership and
its friends to cease doing
business with Japan Air
Lines.
"It would be incredibly fool-
ish of JAL," Tiles said, "to
insist upon kowtowing to the
Arab boycott in violation of
international morality at a
time when Japan seeks credi-
bility everywhere."

JERUSALEM — When is
scotch not Scotch? When it's
made in Israel, as far as the
Scottish Whiskey Association
is concerned.
A district court judge here
heard testimony recently
from a representative of the
Scottish Whiskey Association,
who swore that the brand
processed in the Galilee isn't
worthy of the label "produce
of Scotland."
The Israeli manufacturer
contends that its import of
raw materials from Scotland
justifies the description.
