EZRAS TORAH SABBATH PROCLAMATION

The Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Detroit joins the national rabbinic organization in the one million dollar campaign
being conducted by .Ezras Torah Fund on behalf of its Keren HaBinyan Division.

We Hereby proclaim the coming week begining with this Sabbath,

Parshas YaYigash, December 16 as EZRAS TORAH WEEK in Detroit.

Fully cognizant of our responsibilities as leaders in the community, we call upon every individual, society and congregation
to participate in the colossal building projects of Ezras Torah in Israel, a program sanctioned and approved by all
factions of Israeli leadership, regardless of political affiliations.

Five Hundred units have already been built and 500 additional apartments are ready to be built now, providing the
money is realized. This campaign is essentially geared to meet the needs of hundreds of newlyweds, who are unable to
have housing because of prohibitive costs. In giving, you are performing two mitzvas—binyan ha'aretz and chizuk ha'Torah.

We extend a most warm welcome to the worthy delegation visiting our city

Rabbi David Lifshitz, professor of Talmud at Yeshivah University, Honorary President of the Union of Orthodox Rabbis

of the United States and Canada, and Vice-
President of the Exras Torah Fund, as well as
