Rabbi Wohl, Labor Zionist, 77

CINCINNATI (JTA) —
Rabbi Samuel Wohl, a lead-
ing Reform rabbi here for
40 years and a founder of the
League for Labor Zionism,
died Nov. 30 at age 77.
Rabbi Wohl was born in
Odessa and came to the U.S.
as a young man. He was
educated at the University
of Cincinnati and was or-
dained by Hebrew Union
College.
In 1927 Rabbi Wohl became
rabbi of the Reading Road
Temple here and continued
in that pulpit after its mer-
ger with the Rabbi Issac M.
Wise Temple until his retire-
ment five years ago.
He was a former principal
of the Bnai Yeshurun Reli-
gious School in Cleveland, a

Saul; two sisters, Mrs. Mor-
ris (Rose) Rosenbaum, and
Mrs. Ida Bresler; and six
