Jewish Appeal Campaign.

Zalev said the needs of
Soviet Jewry and their immi-
gration to Israel "will cer-
tainly bring out the best in
Windsor as we celebrate the
25th anniversary of this bas-
tion of freedom and de-
mocracy in the Middle East."

American Jewish Com,nittee,
that the United States favors
the reopening of the Suez
Canal and hopes that the Is-
raelis and the Arabs engage
in talks with each other in
order to help resolve out-
standing issues in the Middle
East.
Ambassador Bush's state-
ment was made during - the
first of a series of 15-minute
taped interviews by Dr.
Lachman on foreign affairs
entitled "Present Tense."
