avid reader as well as auth-

writer, historian, authority
on the Talmud, linguist in
Hebraic ranks — this is the
saga of the creativity of Ber-
nard Isaacs whose 90th birth-
day will he celebrated this
month, not by family and
community alone, but by the
learned in world Jewry who
know the merits of this emi-
nent personality.-

loved by generations of stu-
dents who recall him as su-
perintendent of the United
Hebrew School for many
years.

and Emanuel, of Freehold,
N.J., educator; a daughter,
Annette Dvorin of Detroit; 16
grandchildren and two great-
grandchildren.
His brother, David Lou
Isaacs, one of New York's
most prominent Hebrew ed-
ucators, is 87.
