point when he opened
at the Michigan Palace last
,Friday: . .. Give the people
.top-notch entertainment and
',they'll pack a place . .

From the moment Bobby
''took the microphone and
;opened with "For Once in
My Life" you knew this was
a dynamic biggie . . . and
this two-hour-long show was
highly appreciated by the
huge opening-night audience
'I:that caused WDEE newsman
'`,Al Brown to exclaim as he
= sat down, "This sure doesn't
look like a dying place! .

It was clearly evident, too.
that the Michigan Palace

t grows up with top entertain-
! ment and large audiences

master entertainer did his
everything singing, play-
ing instruments, doing im-
pressions, etc. . . . It was a
wonderful sight . . Bobby
calling out to see if anybody
was in the balcony and a lot
of folks yelling, "We're up
here!" . . or the line wait-
ing to get into the second
show . . . Comic Freddie
Roman had one specific job
to do — warm up the crowd
before Darin ... and this he
did in fine fashion with his
clever style of story telling
and fresh material . . . The
Michigan Palace needs De-
troit support . . . but from
last Friday's Bobby Darin
opening, it was clearly evi-
dent that Detroit needs and

makes money from its
caterer, the establishment
cannot he classified as non-

that any caterer would be
able to do parties wherever
a person desires.

They walked in a few days before we opened, asking for

jobs parking cars. They've been on the lot ever since. In

fact, they own it. It's their bag . . . and ,n all these

years, they've never missed a day. In fact, they expanded

and have three or four helpers.

- something you don't find at other restaurants. It's

one of those things about the Scotch that are different.

If you're a regular, you don't think much about it Ed

and Harold ore there — always were and always will

be. You know you can count on them taking care of you

else about the place:

People taking care of you to help make it a great night out
