Editor, The Jewish News;
I was very pleased to note
that Amendment B received
a majority of No votes. I was
appalled that the polled Jew-
ish people supported this
amendment by 90 per cent.
It is amazing to me that a
religion that has always so
highly regarded life could be
in favor of murdering a
viable human being.
Certainly
the
woman's
body is her own but not
when it
involves another
human being.

Schools Unprotected,
Gahal MK Charges

JERUSALEM (JTA) — A
Gahal Knesset member
• charged that
Jerusalem
. schools were unprotected
. against possible attacks or
sabotage by terrorists and
demanded to know why no
outside security assistance
was provided.
Avraham Katz complained
!that the burden of security
in the schools was placed
solely on the principals. He
said the education ministry
advised the', principals to as-
sign women teachers and 11-
12-year-old students to con-
duct searches of the school
premises and grounds for
bombs and bboby-traps.

Treasure of O Lifetime

The menu is doughnuts—traditional treat for Ilanuka

in Israel. The not-too-delicate eaters are pre-school chil-
dren who attend a Pioneer Women kindergarten in an
absorption center in Ilaifa. Pioneer Women, at the request
of the Israel government, operates all day-care services in
new immigrant absorption centers throughout the country.
The Ilanuka festival begins on the night of Nov. 30.
