The Rabbinical Council of New England has granted
kashrut certification to the Cunard Line to operate the
kosher department for Israeli tours in April and May on
the Queen Elizabeth 2, directed by Assured Travel Serv-
ices. Shown are (from left) Rabbi Alex Weisfogel, presi-
dent of the Rabbinical Council of New England; Philip
Rudnick, vice president of Assured Travel; and Rabbi
Abraham Halbfinger, president of the Rabbinical Council
of Massachusetts. The kosher kitchen will function com-
pletely independent of the other kitchens on board during
those cruises, enabling as many as 700 kosher meals to be
served. For the Passover cruise, Rudnick said, an elabor-
ate seder •il be held. The Queen Elizabeth 2 will dock in
Ashdod and Haifa, so that sightseeing tours to Jerusalem,
the Negev and Israel's South can be arranged. The ship
will occupy practically the entire dock area in Ashdod, an
area comparable to three football fields.

Thou Shalt, Thou Shalt Not;
the alternating currents of
divine, thunderous wrath and
the warmth of Messianic
hopes and dreams for Israel
and mankind. Torah is the
distillation of the soul of
Israel into the written word
of its classic literature, in
the institutions in which it
has taken shelter. But the
Torah in the ideal cannot
