THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Friday, Nov. 3, 1972—M

YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE IRISH
TO WANT FRANK KELLEY
IN THE SENATE.

Or Jewish. Or Italian. Or Polish. Or black or white. Because the things Frank Kelley stands for—
the things he's fought for in ten years as Michigan's attorney general—are what most of us believe
in, whatever our faith, race, or background.

When Frank Kelley speaks out against the barbaric ransom of Soviet Jewry, it's because that kind
of blackmail is an affront to human worth. Every human being—of every faith—can understand that.

When Frank Kelley warns against resting support for Israel on tactical grounds—when hie insists, as
he has done throughout his career, that "support for Israel is a matter of urgent moral principles,
not subject to political shifts"—he speaks from the deepest heritage of free people.

You don't have to look at Frank Kelley's words. Look at what he's done: how he's spent ten
years fighting against the big shots, on behalf of people getting pushed around; whether a
consumer victimized by a utility, a worker denied the job he's qualified for, a customer getting
padded bills from a big business.

That's why we need Frank Kelley in the United States Senate. Because he's been that rare thing
in politics: somebody standing up for the people without the special influence.

We could use another Frank Kelley in the Senate. We can have him as our Senator, if we make
the right choice on November 7th.
