Yosele Rosenblatt's Record Rated High

There are blessings in the
retention of recorded music
and the perpetuation of
voices of the great singers.
Cantonal skills remain under
admiration because of re-
corded music. Among the
most eminent in the liturgi-
cal field was Josef Rosen-
blatt, and the long-playing
record of 10 of his note-
worthy songs, just issued by

RCA, will he treasured by
music lovers.

Cantor Rosenblatt gained
much acclaim with "My Yid-
dishe Momme." Like several
other selections in this rec-
ord he was accompanied in
the singing of this melody by
an orchestra conducted by
Nathaniel Shilkret,

The concluding number on
the second side of the record
"Lomir Zich Iberbeten," al-
so with orchestra accompani-
ment, will be especially rel-
ished because of its unique
approach In this song, as
well as his rendition of "Zog
7,e Rehenju," Rosenblatt was
accompanied by Cantor SaM
uel Malaysky.
