The Best of Everything

MYRON COHEN has been
signed to play a return en-
gagement at the Michigan
Palace . . . Date is Jan. 17
for the sultan of story tellers,
whose first Palace engage-
ment last spring was a block-
busting record success . .
It's the last three days, to-
night, Saturday and Sunday
for songstress-actress Jane
Powell and comic Slappy
White . . . Jane is remem-
bered for her many movie
musicals, but many can re-
call when Jane, about 12
years old, was on the Chase
and Sanborn Radio Hour . .
and a year later appeared in
her first film, "Song of the
Open Road" with W. C.
Fields and Edgar Bergen and
Charlie McCarthy . . . The
very entertaining 17-member
King Family that comes in
Tuesday through Nov. 5,
started with six boys and
two girls .. - the children of
father, Bill King Dreggs and
mother, Pearl Mortensen,

folks gave him credit for ...
The paltry sum can be wiped
out with one good show (Sam
has signed contracts for
Jerry Lewis, Juliet Prowse,
Robert Goulet and other
show biz biggies) . How a
newspaper can let something
like this slip by the first
edition is without reason ...
just shows how low reporting
and journalism as a whole
have slipped these days.

NICK AND MIKE LARCO
will not accompany brother
Pete in his restaurant ven-
ture at the Traveler's Build-
ing - . - They'll remain at
their very popular Six Mile
Rd. spot.

LEMONS LAST AND last
when kept in sterile jars
filled with water and sealed
tightly.
RUMORS ARE FALSE,
says owner Joe Rahal, that
the 24 Karat Club is being
sold . . "How can they sell
it without me?" _asks Joe.
ASIDE TO . . . Maurice
BY THE WAY, that "junk" Cohen . . - Those cigars you
in a local metropolitan paper smoke with wrapper open at
about Sam Hadous owing one end can be kept fresh
money was probably the out of a humidor by being
worst bit of journalistic placed in a plastic bag and
eager-beaver reporting we've airtight.
WANT TO FLIP SOME
read in a long time , . . If
that's all Sam owes, he's bartender? . . . Ask for a
doing better than a lot of layer cake . . . It's a cock-

gredients do not mix . . .

mixture in glass.

DON'T JAM clothing into
a closet . . . space between

MICHAEL KRAUSS, 33-
year-old son of Josephine and
Burnett Krauss, in town to
visit his parents, was pro-
ducer of the Mike Douglas
TV Show on ABC until a
couple of months ago . .
With brother Perry, he now
has his own Michael Krauss
Productions in Los Angeles
. . and the two are co-
producers of a TV serial to
be released called "The Pre-
senters" with Peter Lawford,
Rose Marie and Hal David
. Back in 1966-68, Mike
prod uced "The Morning
Show" on WXYZ-TV here
while brother Perry was pro-
ducing "The Morning Show"
on WXYZ radio . . . When
Mike left for Chicago in '68-
'71 to do an ABC night-time
bit called "Chicago", Perry
took his place as producer of
the Detroit TV show . . .
Now both are together again
in the LA company which
plans other television pro-
ductions - , Mike also
visited with Mel Ball, ap-
pearing with his quartet at
Angel's Hour Glass on W.
McNichols, who has made
appearances on the Mike
Douglas network show.
