Hope for Elderly Seen at Geriatric Center
PHILADELPHIA (JTA)-
Research at the Philadelphia
Geriatric Center indicates
that there is "real hope" for
improvement in the condition
of many elderly persons for-
merly considered hopeless,
David Solma, president of
the geriatric center, asserted.
He made the progress re-
port at ground-breaking cere-
monies for the 56,500,000
Abram H. and Helen Weiss
Institute of the geriatric cen-
ter, which he said would be
the first facility in the United
States devoted to treatment
and research in mental and
physical impairment in old
age.

Nathan Rubin, retired own-
er of Nathan Rubin, Inc.,
Detroit meat packers, died
Wednesday at age 74.
Mr. Rubin, 23600 Riverside,
Southfield, was a 40-year

Knollwood Country Club. He
was born in Russia.
Surviving are his wife,
