Shlonsky, returning herei from a cultural congress in Paris, said he had been un- expectedly invited by Soviet Ambassador Piotr Abrassi- mov, who discussed with him at length—in the presence of the Soviet cultural attache —the subjects of poetry and literature. Shlonsky, who came to Palestine in 1912 at age 12, published his first Hebrew poems in 1919.
