October 13, 1972 — DETROIT JEWISH NEWS FEDERATION PLANNING DIVISIONS HELP YEAR 'ROUND TO COORDINATE AGENCY SERVICES REVIEW ALLOCATIONS RESPOND TO FUTURE COMMUNITY NEEDS COMMUNITY RELATIONS DIVISION The Division budgets Federation funds for operation of the Jewish Community Council in Detroit. It also allocates local funds for use by a number of national Jewish community rela- tions agencies. These agencies make an effort toward improving the understanding of Jewish life and culture within the Jewish community. It also apportions funds to national agencies working to promote Jewish cultural and educational activities. Like most dynamic institutions, educational emphasis changes with the times. The Division also participates in the year-round planning pro- cess with reference to capi- tal requirements of its mem- ber agencies.
