`Olympics Should
Have Been Halted'

Editor. The Jewish News:
Mr. Frimet accurately put
his finger on the only reason
for continuing the Olympic
Games after the massacre
of the Israel team, when he
said ". . . the people of Mu-
nich had spent five years
building a subway system
and facilities for the games."
(Jewish News, Sept. 15).
He errs, however, when he
continues that the Germans
". . . had invested so much
of themselves emotionally.."
Money, not emotions builds
subways and facilities and
this is what the Germans had
invested. The Olympics are
big business for the host
country. Canceling the games
Would have meant severe
financial loss for those in-
volved and this is the only
compelling reason for "busi-
ness are usual."
If anything, continuing the
games proves conclusively
that the very basic philoso-
phy on which they are sup-
posedly based is a fraud. In-
ternational brotherhood —
what brother can continue
running races and playing
games 24 hours after his
brothers have been slaughter-
ed before his very eyes?

DO YOUR CHILDREN
GET THEIR THRILLS FROM TV?

Or do they enjoy the exploits of Tom Sawyer and the Swiss
Family Robinson or the excitement of Treasure Island?
For some children there are no thrills or pleasures in
reading. School is a .frustrating and unhappy situation. for
you, its depressing.
If your child doesn't like to read, has trouble concentrating
and if he gets poor grades, there is a way you can help now.
The Reading Center will help your children master their
reading skills with individual instruction built around a book
centered program.
