I Am A Jew

By HENRY

FRIEDMAN
Hear O. my people
The story Is not new.
What I have to say to you-
Because I an a Jew.
Thousand. of years have gone;
We were left only a few-
Because I an a Jew.
Through the dark ages
And modern centuries
We have been oppressed.
And nothing we could do-
Because I am • Jew.
We, the proud people, did not
know
How to resist and fight too-
Because I am a Jew.
Is on this earth, somebody
Kind to us, I wonder who-
Because I am a Jew.
The world was deaf to our cries
And had no virtne-
Because I am a Jew.
So we went to the gas chambers
And crematoriums to be
Gassed and burned by an
Efficient german crew-
Because I am a Jew.
The silent world is Will
For our tragedy and this Is true-
