Israel 'Red Cross' Aids Filipinos

In the wake of recent floods that devastated large areas
of the Philippines, Magen David Adorn—Israel's red cross
service—was among the first to send urgently needed help
to the Philippine Red Cross. Dr. Rafaelita Soriano, the
Philippine ambassador, and A. J. Agbayani, consul general
of the Philippines (both shown herej, were at Lydda Airport
to check the crates of medicines and antibiotics before the
shipment was loaded onto a waiting airliner. Partly funded
in the U.S. by the American Red Magen David for Israel,
manned and supplied with life-giving blood almost entirely
by the people of Israel—a tiny staff and a huge body of
volunteers—Mager' David Adorn has regularly come to the
aid of needy nations.

Funds to Victims of Munich

TEL AVIV (JTA) — The
German Red Cross has do-

lies of the Israeli athletes
murdered in Munich.
The funds were channeled
through the Magen David
Adorn headquarters here.
Dr. Joseph Kott, chairman
of the Magen David Adorn,
said that the Japanese Red
Cross has sent $770,000 for
the families of the 10 Israelis
killed and the 40 Israelis
wounded at the Lydda mas-
sacre last May.
Part of the Japanese dona-
tion will be also used for
general activities and hu-

to be selected jointly by the
Magen David Adorn and the
