or explain words or actions

standable only to Jews. All

The ultimate insult to Jew-
ish sensibilities is the film
"Everything You Always
Wanted to Know About Sex
but Were Afraid to Ask."
Although this is obviously
meant to be a spoof and
does have some hilarious
moments, much of the hu-
mor is in very poor taste,
and much of that at the
expense of Jews—some by
insinuation and some shame-

lessly explicit.
Perhaps the two couples
(one of whom turns out to
be a transvestite) are not
really Jewish, but they cer-
tainly manifest Jewish char-
acteristics in speech and
mannerisms.
There is no room for doubt
in the segment of the film
which depicts a lovable old
rabbi whose name is Chaim,
as he appears on television
to act out his sex-fantasy of
being tied to a chair, as a
long - legged, scantily - clad
girl whips him while call-
ing out, "bad rabbi, naughty
rabbi!"
And as if this were not
degrading enough, the scene .
concludes with the rabbi's
wife bringing out a tray of
pork, setting it at the rabbi's
feet and kneeling in front of
him to eat.
I know that not every Jew
seeing this display of bad
taste will agree that such
scenes in a film viewed by
millions of non-Jews is cause
for protest. They will argue
in defense of the film mak-
er's right to freedom of
speech and freedom of de-
piction.
To these, I answer with a
question: is the picture a
better picture or a funnier
picture because the butt of
the humor is a Jew'
If the humor is valid.
