I initiated my answer by ticking off several points, such as: we are small, only 140 families and by our constitution cannot go over 300 families; we have few sermons but gather after services to discuss various topics, that although we plan to build, our building will be adequate and not a monument, that fortunetly for us we enjoy a member to member and Rabbi to member communication. I went on to elab- orate about our cornucopia of social events ; the de- votion to excellence and cre,,ion of excitement in our religous. school and although never done our accom- plishments in social community action. I tried, but I did not feel that I was truely explain- ing our uniqueness_ we are 'not a I've given it considerable thought . . Temple! Oh yes, in the theological and historical sense we certainly are, but much more so . we are Family. Like Family we argue and disagree, but like Family we love and respect each other, Today, maybe more than ever, all of us need a true, sense of belonging, an identification, a com- munication, we need to be individuals not just an- other name . Yes, by golly, we are unique or different because and that is different. . that's the way we feel So from our Family to Yours, best wishes for the New Year The Members Temple Kol Ami 85 I-5350, 542 - 3001 20—Friday, Sept.
