Blue and White boxes will
begin Sept. 25, announces
Irving I. Katz. chairman of
the blue and white box com-
mittee. Sherman Shapiro is
co-chairman. The collection
drive will continue until Oct.
30.
Organizations actively par-
ticipating in the collections
include the JNF Women's
chapter. Hadassah, North-
west Child Rescue, Pioneer
Wo rn e n, Mizrachi - Fanny
Gluck and Mizrachi - Sisters
of Zion. Members of Zionist
and Temple Youth also will
participate in this clearance.
The little box that has
helped to create the state of
Israel, has been a symbol
of the JNF for 70 years.
The first land purchased in
Palestine was paid for out
of blue and white box
funds. Change dropped into
the boxes goes toward the
total JNF collections ear-
marked for the land reclama-
tion and land redemption
programs.
All blue and white box-
holders are requested to call
the

the event that their boxes are
not emptied during the cur-
rent collections.
