Mrs. Schenk was a member of
Iladassah delegates to the World
Zionist Congresses of 1956, '60, '64,
'69. and '72. She is a delegate to
the Zionist General Council and has
served as chairman of several sub-
committees.
She was a delegate to the 30th
annual conference of World Youth
Aliya, held in Jerusalem. She was
a founder of the Washington
Heights Group of the New York
Chapter of Hadassah.
A frequent visitor to Israel, Mrs.
Schenk also studied the problems
of the Jews behind the Iron Cur-
tain when she visited Czechoslo-
vakia. Poland, Yugoslavia, and the
Soviet Union. She recently visited
Iran.

conductor of the Oak Park Sym-
phony will conduct the opening
concert of the season Oct. 24.

Dr. Szabo is an associate pro-
fessor of music at Eastern Michi-
gan University. as well as chair-
man of orchestra and string
studies. He has had solo appear-
ances with orchestras in the New
York metropolitan area and has
performed with the New Jersey
Symphony, the Dayton Symphony,
and has toured Europe with the
Juilliard Orchestra.
Dr. Szabo has conducted cham-
ber orchestras, college symphonies
and an opera orchestra. He holds
degrees from the Cincinnati Con-
servatory of Music, the Juilliard
School of Music, and an MA and
a PhD from Columbia University.
