to Israel in 1950.
He joined El Al
one year later.
He served in
the army and
achieved the rank
of sergeant ma-
jor, fighting in
both the Sinai-,
campaign and the
Six-Day War.
Herskovitz

been stationed in New York for
the past two and a half years with
