NCJW' Names Member
to United Nations Unit

NEW YORK (JTA) — The Na-
tional Council of Jewish Women
announced the appointment of
Mrs. Shirley Joseph of Buffalo as
the NCJW's representative to the
United States Commission for
UNESCO. The appointment was
I made by Secretary of State Wil-
liam P. Rogers.
The commission, which was cre-
ated by Congress in 1940. consists
of 100 distinguished Americans
drawn mainly from the fields of
education, science and culture.
Since its inception, the national
, commission has focused on inte-
rests and rights of youth and mi-
nority groups, which the NCJW
says has also been its concern over
