The High Holy Days begin this
year on Sept. 9, opening with Rosh
Hashana and ending 10 days later
with Yom Kippur.
Jewish tables are festive, and
special foods are the order of the
day. Menus vary from home to
home depending on family custom
and personal tastes, but two items
are sure to he found: honey and
fresh fruit. Honey symbolizes the
hope for a sweet and pleasant
new year; fruit is probably a leg-
acy from the time when Rosh
Hashana was something of a har-
vest festival.
Inspired by tradition, orange
honey chicken combines honey
and fresh oranges in a tart-sweet
basting sauce for baked chicken.
With its sunny garnish of fresh
orange sections and warm spicing
of ginger, orange honey chicken
is a festive suggestion from the
makers of Planters Oil.
