tional seven-branched candelabrum
springing like a young tree from a
simple scroll with the Hebrew
letters spelling 'Israel.' Thus the
name of the state appears twice
on this stamp — here stylized and
directly below it in usual fashion,
next to the value.
Since the proclamation of the
state May 14, 1948, the population
