Young Leadership Unit
Holds Sabbath Picnics
Eternal Light Series
on Flint FM Radio

In a recent afternoon ceremony
held at Temple Beth El of Flint,
Shelley Wendy Katz and Gary
Bruce Fleishman were married by
Rabbi Gerald H. Schuster.
The bride is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Katz of Yorktown
Dr., and the bridegroom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Fleish-
man of Pittsburgh.
The new Mrs. Fleishman wore
an organza sheath appliqued with
hand-clipped Chantilly lace re-
embroidered with seed pearls. The
cathedral train of English net was
encircled with matching lace. A
fingertip illusion veil fell from a
lace chaplet cap. She carried an
elongated arrangement of white
roses, babies-breath and edged
with carnations in shades of pink
and tangerine.
Mrs. Richard Kronick of Detroit
and Marlene Katz, the bride's
sisters, were, respectively, the
matron and maid of honor. Dr.
David Fleishman•, the br id e-
groom's brother, was best man.
Richard Kronick was the grooms-
man. Ushers were Dr. A. Martin
Fleishman of Danville, Pa., and
Dr. Robert Fleishman of Pitts-
burgh, the bridegroom's brothers.
The bride's grandparents, Mr. and
Mrs. Max Severin and Mrs. Max
Lattman of California, along with
the bridegroom's grandparent,
Mrs. Martin M. Fleishman of
Pittsburgh, also participated in the
ceremony.
Following a wedding trip to
Florida, the couple will live in
Pittsburgh.

the Move
Programs are aired 6 p.m. Sun-
days. Scheduled for Sunday is
"Phoenicia and Egypt." (See

As a tribute to the late Maurice
Samuel, The Eternal Light is pre-
senting this summer a repeat of
the 1968 summer series, "The
Words We Live By—Cities and
Surroundings of the Bible." Flint
FM radio station WFBE will air
the programs.
Samuel, who was recognized dur-
ing his lifetime as one of the fore-
most men of Jewish letters on the
American scene, and Mark Van
Doren, professor emeritus of Co-
lumbia University, presented dia-
logues on various biblical themes
of this series.
