Inc. and operated it until her ill-
ness, died last Friday, at age 56.

lived in Detroit 50 years. She was

A young Irish scholar is studying
Yiddish at Yeshiva University so
he can find out.
' Alan J. Hudson observed that
the Yiddish-English-speaking per-
son in America is abandoning Yid-
ish in favor of English. In Ireland,
there is a similar trend: English
is gaining in preference over
Gaelic.
Hudson has been doing graduate
work at Yeshiva University since
1968 under a fellowship from Ire-
, land's ministry of education.
