Knesset OKs $3.9 Bilion
State Budget—at Last

JERUSALEM (JTA) — After 70
meetings, a marathon final session
and three readings, the Knesset-
three months behind schedule —
finally approved the 1972-73 state
budget of IL 16.385,000.000 (53,900,-
000.000). It was piloted through the
readings by Israel Kargman, chair-
man of the finance committee.
Outside the plenum, seven Labor
Alignment members sent the pre-
sidium the text of their joint pri-
vate members' hill on electoral
reform.
It provides fur the combining of
vmstituency elections to the Knes-
set with the current system of
countrywide elections. It will prob-
ably fail of a majority because of
opposition from Mapa m, Gahal,
the National Religious Party and
most of the small factions.

If your memory is poor, it's a
good idea to stick to the truth.
