Catholic Students Lauded
for 'Fiddler' Production

Editor. The Jewish News:
Recently I happened to read a
story about high school students at
St. Florian High School in Ham-
tramck performing "Fiddler on the
Roof." My husband Jim and I de-
cided to see the play.
John S. Rohm. producer-director
of the play, deserved a big hand,
and what research he did. For a
moment. I thought this was an all-
Jewish cast, for I noticed that they
did Yiddish things, such as always
kissing the mezuza every time the
daughters or Tevye or Golda en-
tered and lett the room.
The whole cast was wonderful,
and the singers and dancers were
superb. Dave Uchalik. a 17-year-
old senior, was outstanding play-
ing Tevye. Sister Mary Andreen
directed the music.
Everyone dud a great jch
