former -Mrs. Molly Salzenstein, secretary to Southfield Mayor Norman
Feder. Mrs. Roger Ettlinger, Mrs. Salzenstein's daughter, and Sol
Weisberger, Dr. Weston's brother, served as attendants. Mr. Weis-
berger and his wife are from New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Schwartz of Moritz Ave., Oak Park, will be
honored on the occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary with a family
reunion. Married June 29, 1912, at Cong. Shaarey Zedek, Mr. and Mrs.
Schwartz have four sons, Jacob, Solomon, Emanuel and Arthur; six
grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
At a 50th wedding anniversary party given recently for Mr. and
Mrs. Abe Weiss at the Kingsley Inn, out-of-town guests included: Mrs.
Diana Gordon of El Paso; Dr. and Mrs. Weiss and children, of Encino,
Calif.; Albert Weiss and son Jeffrey of McAllen, Tex.; and Jack Fine
of London.
Roslyn Brickner Voltz of Cherry Hill Rd., Southfield, was honored
upon her graduation from nursing school at a party given at her home
-y her husband, Alfred. After raising her two sons, Mrs. Holtz began
the Oakland Community College nursing program, which she has now
completed. Present at the party were her sons; parents. Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Brickner; sister, brother and their families.
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Williams of Oak Park Blvd. , Oak Park.
celebrated the graduation of both of their children recently. Dr. Harvey
Williams graduated from the College of Osteopathic Medicine
and Surgery in Des Moines. lie is interning at Phoenix General Osteo-
pathic Hospital. Mrs. Sheila Thatch received her NIA degree in speech
from Wayne State University.
Mr. and Mrs. Philip _Kaplan were honored recently on their 25th
wedding anniversary, at a cocktail buffet supper. Mrs. Kaplan is the
former Diane Pritz. The party was hosted by the Kaplans' children,
Gary, Robert and Janet, and Mrs. Kaplan's parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Nathan Pritz.
Former Detroiter Mrs. Eve Shulak of Houston is a house guest of
her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Mitchell of Green-
field Rd., Southfield. She will stay through this weekend.

ers. The recipe for Cheese
Knishes w as requested recently,
and I hope it will satisfy many
of you. The knishes are "pockets"
' of tasty dough filled, in this rec-
' lot., with two kinds of cheese.
Note that the filling contains also
mashed potatoes for a better tex-
ture and easier handling .

RUTH I. ABRAMS of Cambridge,
Mass., former assistant district at-
torney in Middlesex County, has
been nominated by the governor to
he an associate justice of the Su-
perior Court. The executive coun-
cil's expected approval will make
Miss Abrams the second woman in
the state's history to sit on the
Superior Court, the first being the
late Judge Jennie L. Barron. Miss
Abrams is a graduate of Harvard
Law School and is known for her
ability to solve difficult legal prob-
lems.
