The Best of Everything
IT STILL ISN'T quits yet
insofar as Herb Cohen and
The Raven Gallery on Green-
field and 12 Mile not getting
a liquor license in Southfield
. . Herb's record speaks
mighty loud and a lot of folks
are going to bat for him . . .
How's this for a feeble reason
why the answer is no by the
Southfield council . . his
place "doesn't serve a useful
purpose?" . . He and The
Raven were taking kids off
the streets with good clean
entertainment when South-
field was still having grow-
ing pains 12 years ago . . .
The Raven Gallery was on
James Couzens and four
years later was the place to
go in Southfield for young
guys 'n gals who couldn't
get in where liquor was serv-
ed because of their age . . .
He still packs them in but
the young folks also have
bars to go to now and Herb
can't make that extra buck
. or two.
