Nahama 'Ironer, daughter of Prof. and Mrs. Robert Broner,
recently was Bat Mitzva at the Western Wall. The Broners, who in-

sabbatical in Israel. and are living in Jerusalem. Robert Broiler, asso-
ciate professor at Monteith College of Wayne State University. is
teaching at the Bezalel Art Institute and at Haifa University. Mrs.
( Esther) Broner, who is an assistant professor at Wayne, has held
creative writing workshops at Haifa and Bar-Ilan Universities and
the University of the Negev at Beersheba. The Broners are in an
ulpan. studying Hebrew six days a week, five hours a day. Mrs. Broner,
the author of three books, has written a number of short stories about
Israel and is working on a novel. Nahama Broner is the granddaughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Masserman of Coolidge Ave., Oak Park.

In town for the recent bar mitzva of Avery Silverstein, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Phil Silverstein of Harding Ace., Oak Park, were the fol-

The Shapiro Family Club recently met at the home of Mrs. and
Mrs. N. Lux of Radclift Dr., Oak Park, to honor Mariam Schurgin
and Ralph Silverstein with a fun gadget shower.

Mr. and Mrs. Heinz Borchardt of LaBelle Dr., Oak Park, honored
their daughter Adina a graduation garden party recently with 50
of her friends present.
