Centerline Pupils
lAsarn of Ifolocaust
From 2 Survivors

The eighth graders of Wolfe
Junior High School in Centerline
were largely ignorant of the Holo-
caust when two Jewish survivors
came to address them recently.
But the situation had changed
by the end of a two-hour presen-
tation by Dr John 'tames and
David Bergman, both of Oak Park
—which included a talk, a film
on the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
and slides of Bergman's copper
sculptures of his concentration
camp experiences.
The children had been study-
ing World War II, and their
teat hers invited the two men
to gise a different perspectise
of the period, with which the
students were unfamiliar.
Dr. Mames, who has addressed
Jewish groups. said it was the first
time he had spoken on the subject
to an all-Gentile student body, and
he was gratified with the results.
Despite the k nath of the pre-
sentation and the humidity of the
day, the children gave their full
attention. he said.
During
the
question - answer
period and in written comments
after the pro..:ram, they said they
felt the experience of the Jews
and other sIrtinis of Hitler was
beyonif belief Ono student wrote:
