NEW YORK — Aguda Women.
an organization of Orthodox
women has strongly condemned the
proposed 2al
'h Amendment ' - as rob-
bing Ntrre`riran women of more
rights than it grants them. -
Specifically. the statement said:
"discrimination against women in
the economy has already been
banned by the Civil Rights Law of
1964. On the other hand, no lawyer
has ever succeeded in determining
all the implications of the equality:
guaranteed by the proposed amend-
cent.
"Curtis Tarr. director of Selec-
tive Service, has confirmed that
women would he as subject to
military draft as are the men of
our country. For that matter, there
would he no allowance for differ-
ences between the mother and the
father of a family.

and commentaries indicating that
a man must consider his wife as
a person of worth, as a person in
her own right.
Rabbi Parnes said that according
to Jewish tradition, woman was not
inferior to man.
The fact that she is the retiring,
nondominant partner, Rabbi Parries
said, does not mean "that her in-
terests and talents are to be sup-

is as wife and mother, and she is
supposed to fill this role to her
