A meaning- ful way to commemorate this Mother's Day is with the planting of trees in Israel in honor of mother, or to perpetuate her mem- ory. According to David P. Zack, president of the Jewish National Fund, D,etroiters have been using the plantireg of a tree in Israel for many years as a way to mark Mother's Day as a day of special significance. Zack said that trees in Israel are of vital importance to Israel's' economy and security. Many new- comers to Israel are employed by the JNF in the planting of trees. The trees also provide lumber, help to hold the soil in place and furnish shade and recreational' areas. Everyone who has visited Is- rael in recent years, said Zack, marvels at the lush, green for- ests that grow in the once bar- ren desert. Trees can be ordered from the - Jewish National Fund office by phoning 968-0820. The JNF office, in Oak Park, will be open from 10 a.m.-2. p.m. May 14 for the convenience of those wishing to purchase trees for Mother's Day. gagagetnetzts JEWELRY SUITE 364 ADVANCE BLDG. 23077 Greenfield or 9 Mole 13131 557-1860 „ _ FIRESTONE 411 ()„, HANDBAGS Spring, Summer Included Up To eicry • Mulch 0 OFF • Vassar • Supreme and other Quality Names SPECIAL MEN'S & WOMEN'S CARRY-ON CASES , NOW 1/3 OFF Robinson Leather Inc.fo Z>..% V.N4114 25250 Greenfield, 4 ■?a .1. 1:a.t11/bn ilk g Ernest L.
