for Israel is the government-ap-
proved system of "day school"
education in Israel, with an enroll-
ment of more than 40,000 children
throughout the country. Children
receive a complete religious and
secular education in 250 schools in
115 communities.
Chinuch Atzmai has absorbed
more than 820 Soviet Georgian
children, some 80 per cent of the
school-age children in the current
aliya from -the Soviet Union. Spe-
cial schools were opened and spe-
cial classes organized.
