THELMA AND JOE WINKLER
wear their $1,000 pins received
at Detroit Businessmen's Group,
City of Hope, annual big4fme
affairs as anything but pins . . .
Joe has gotten one four times
. . two for cuff links and two
for earrings, which Thelma wore
to the recent installation . . the
guests, as always, of Pearl and
!tarry Brodsky, outgoing three-
time president . . . Now Pearl is
going to have earrings made with
the two pins received by Harry.

ERRATA . . . Correct date of
Hannah Schloss Oldtimers annual
reunion at Temple Israel is May
21 . . . chaired by Mollie Banks
in memory of her husbacd Sam.

BEST BET of the Weekend . .
Infant Service Group Dinner-
Dance and Show . . . Sunday at
Raleigh House . . . a real biggie!

GALS OF INFANT SERVICE
group still haven't gotten that
mimeograph machine they need
so badly . . You business guys
must have one lying around some-
where . . . and these hard-work-
ing lassies sure can use it . . .
Contact Presidert Sophie Shapiro,
358-5865.

CHANNEL 56 ACTION telethon
runs May 5 through May 13 to
raise money for tits very fine edu-
cational channel . . . It'll be held
in the new Channel 56 building
and studios, Second and Bethune,
former site of Channel Two .
Our date to do a bit of auctioning
is May 11 at 11 p.m. . . . be sure
to tune in and make us work
hard!

SCOTT'S KORNER . . "Our
fifth grade class at Pepper School
in Oak Park, led by Mrs. Fox
and the fifth grade kids in Mrs.
Shear's class, went on a field trip
to Ann Arbor . . . While at the
Arboretum Park, Mitchell Starr
dug deep for rocks and came up
with a hard ball of dirt (and very
filthy hands). By a lake at the
park, Randy Gayer took a wrong
step and fell in. Stephen Fried-
man said he had a stomach ache
from eating too much. When we
got home, he called to tell me
the pain was from not eating
enough—it went away when he
started eating again!"

REMEMBER THE DATE .
May 14 , . . MOTHER'S DAY ...
That's her day, guys 'n' gals, make
it a big, big one . . She deserves
it! . . . And as our mom, Minnie
Raskin, puts it, "Don't stop after
May 14. Make every day Moth-
er's Day!"

ARNOLD BLAU Memorial given
recently to players of the Oak
Park Hockey Association, will be
annual in memory of Arnie, who
passed away Dec., '71 . . . Ronald
Sloan, chairman of the Arnold
Blau Memorial Fund, who also is
its originator, writing the first
check to get it going ... The multi-
purpose athletic building in Oak
Park has no name yet . . . and
it is hoped by many that the fine
sports structure will be named by
the council as the Arnold Blau
Memorial Bldg. . . Arnie's knowl-
edge and interest in sports was
highly noted, and his name would
be very appropriate!
