Simons, presiding over the ceremony held at the Detroit Historical Museum, April 20, in honer of David E. Heine- man, designer of the Flag of De- troit, spoke of "old memories with young hopes." He stated that the Historical Museum functions under such traditions, and he declared: "We try to learn from the past, live in the present and plan for the future." The late David Heineman's numerous services were recalled and his memory was honored at the well-attended ceremonies.
