Green has devoted himself to
communal affairs for many years.
He served as chairman of the Al'
lied Jewish Campaign in 1965-
1966 and has been president of
the United Jewish Charities since
1970. lie is on the executive com-
mittee of the Jewish Welfare Fed-
eration and on the hoards of the
Detroit Service Group, capital
needs committee, Sinai Hospital
and the Technion Society. On the
board of trustees of Shaarey
Zeidek. he was chairman of fund
raising during construction of the
present sanctuary. He has been a
leader in the Israel Bond Cam-
paign for nearly 18 years.

Green, who received his law de-
gree from Wayne State Univer-
sity in 1938. is a founder of the
Century Machine and Die Co., now
Century Tools. He and his wife
Bethea have three children.
