Highlight of the Sunday meeting
will be the appearance of Chaim
Taraseisky, a 25-year old Russian
immigrant who arrived in Israel in
January. He came with his wife
and baby daughter, his parents
and his grandmother. He is a
prominent physicist. He will re-
count his family's struggle for a
number of years to migrate - to
Israel.
In an effort to reach every con-
tributor in Detroit's Jewish com-
munity prior to the victory dinner
on May 3, all media are being used
by volunteers. Telethon headquar-
ters have been set up in the United
Hebrew Schools on 12 Mile Rd.,
and volunteers will be making calls
to prospects daily. In addition, a
special letter telling of the desper-
ate need for funds in taking care
of the sudden influx of Russian
Jews is being mailed this week to
selected individuals in the com-
munity.
